Our Future - our goals

Running Creek Alpacas has established its position as a breeder of superior alpacas.
Over the last couple of years we have down sized our herd to a more manageable level and plan on maintaining a smaller, high quality herd.
At the time this website opened our prime breeding goal was, within three generations, to be consistently producing animals with mean fibre diameter between 15µ and 17µ and more importantly with a standard deviation of 3µ. In our 2005 shearing we acheived that goal with the majority of our first fleeces falling within or close to those ranges.
Our future aim is to maintain the consistant fineness that we have acheived and to further reduce the standard deviation, which we see as a must for the future of the fibe industry.
We are dedicated to producing superior alpacas and invite you to join us on our journey.
